Heat Miser Christmas Legend
The character of Heat Miser originated from the 1974 television special series for children called, 'The Year Without A Santa Claus'. This story is an adaptation of a book, written by Phyllis McGinley in 1956. The two brothers, i.e. Heat Miser and Snow Miser, are a part of the plot where both are two opposite forces of Mother Nature and are constantly at loggerheads with each other. However, Mother Nature forces them into a conciliation and makes them work together to achieve common goals. In the movie, Mrs. Claus wants South Town in U.S.A to experience snow; this town happens to be the Heat Miser's realm. As a deal, Heat Miser asks the Snow Miser to surrender the control of the North Pole and entrust him with the responsibility. Outraged with his demand, the Snow Miser refuses and complains to Mother Nature. The Heat Miser is also known to produce intense heat from his hands and mouths that take the shape of flame, lightning bolts, fire beams, balls of heat and even spit fire. He thinks that his mother favors his stepbrother more than him and thus, feels neglected. He also believes that even Santa Claus is biased towards the Snow Miser. Controlling the weather conditions all around the globe, he lives with his army of followers inside a Volcano. In the film, the character of Heat Miser is voiced by actor George S. Irving. In 2008, a sequel called, 'A Miser Brothers' Christmas', was released where the brothers come together to save Christmas from the fiery nature of the North Wind.
The Heat Miser Song
"I'm Mister Green Christmas
I'm Mister Sun
I'm Mister Heat Blister
I'm Mister Hundred and One
They call me Heat Miser,
Whatever I touch
Starts to melt in my clutch
I'm too much!
Thank you!
I never want to see a day
That's under sixty degrees
I'd rather have it eighty, Ninety, one hundred degrees!
Oh, some like it hot, but I like it REALLY hot! Hee hee!"
The Heat Miser is portrayed as a funny-looking character with orange colored hair and red boots. His nose is pink and he wears funny, Hawaiian shirts. Both the Snow Miser and the Heat Miser are popular Christmas Legends, and will continue to be so.
