Story
Alex "Hitch" Hitchens (Will Smith) is a professional matchmaker. His clients are men with almost zero self-esteem and do not seem to have their way with good-looking women. These men come to him seeking help, and he makes an opportunity for a relationship arise. His latest client, Albert Brennaman, is a bumbling accountant with a huge inferiority complex and an even bigger crush on a corporate millionaire, Allegra Cole (Amber Valletta). Hitch manages to set him up with the glamorous celebrity and while working on his client's love life, he bumps into a gossip-columnist Sara Melas (Eva Mendes) with whom he falls in love.
However, Sara is resolute on unmasking and destroying Hitch, after mistakenly assuming that one of his clients engaged in a one-night stand with her best friend. Hitch wants to woo Sara but realizes that all his tricks and reliable methods don't seem to be working for the "matchmaker" himself. Soon, Sara figures out that it is Hitch she has been looking for. She concludes that he helps men to bed women and also casts aspersions on Albert's love for Allegra. Hitch tries to explain it to Sara that he just tries to help his clients to date the woman of their dreams, which they would not be able to do on their own.
Later, Hitch is not able to muster the courage to talk to Sara and reveal his love for her. He meets Allegra and convinces her about Albert, who is upset over the speculations raised by the media regarding his love for Allegra. During this process, he realizes that most of his clients have been successful with women on their own and not by following his advice. By the end, he also manages to reconcile with Sara. During the course of the story, "Hitch" raises some good laughs and the performances are definitely worth a mention. It is an ideal movie to watch with a loved one and spend some good time with each other.
