Mother's Day is one of the best occasions to celebrate motherhood and honor all the mothers of the world. Though a mother guides and supports her child all through the life, the pains and efforts taken hit the highest point, when the child is in his/her early years of life. This is when the child needs his/her mother the most. For a preschooler, mom is his/her world. Right from the time when the kid gets up in the morning to the moment, when he/she goes to sleep at night and even while sleeping, a mother is always there. As such, expression of gratitude and thankfulness cannot be ruled out, even when a child is a toddler. You may be surprised to know that even preschool kids can express their feelings and emotions on Mother's Day, by giving cute handmade crafts to their mother, making her feel special. Handprint Apron
Materials Required
- Light-colored apron (such as white, lemon yellow and lime green)
- Fabric paints (any two colors)
- 2 Paper plates
- Fabric pen
Instructions
- The first step would be to cover the work area with a newspaper. Since toddlers are around, chances are that they might spill the paint or make themselves dirty.
- Make the toddler sit comfortably and lay the apron on the right side of him/her.
- Now, instruct the child to pour the first fabric paint on the one paper plate and the second fabric paint on the other paper plate.
- Instruct the kid to press his/her left hand onto the first paper plate. Move the hand around until the palm sides are covered.
- Now, place two to three handprints on to the apron.
- The next step would be to immerse the right hand in the second paper plate. Similar to the previous process, let the child make two to three handprints on to the apron.
- While the apron is drying, wash the hands of the toddler.
- Now, instruct the child to write a message on the apron. He/she can write "Happy Mother's Day" or " I Love You Mom" or even "You are my Best Friend".
