Fathers Day Cake Recipe
Father's Day represents a very special day for all the daddies as well as all the children around the world. It is dedicated to the person we look up to for strength, courage and protection, the person we call 'dad'. On this day, children undertake extra efforts to tell their dad the importance he holds in their life and make him aware of the love they have in their heart, only for him. One of the ways to do this is by baking a cake for your dad and getting him to cut it, as a mark of your appreciation. Cake Recipes For Father's Day
Walnut Cake
Ingredients
- 200 gm Wet Dates, chopped
- 50 gm Walnuts, chopped
- 100 gm Flour
- 100 gm Sugar
- 3 Eggs
- ½ tsp Vanilla essence
- 75 gm Butter (preferably unsalted)
- ½ cup Warm Water
- ½ tsp Baking Powder
- ½ tsp Soda Bi-carb
Instructions
- In a bowl, beat the eggs properly, until stiff peaks form.
- Take another bowl and in it, sift the flour and baking powder 3-4 times, through a muslin cloth or very fine strainer.
- In ½ a cup of warm water, soak chopped dates with soda bi-carb, for 10 minutes.
- Cream together the butter and sugar, till light and fluffy, and add the beaten eggs and the flour mixture
- Add chopped walnuts and soaked dates to the mixture and blend thoroughly.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- In the meantime, grease a round cake pan with butter and dust with flour.
- Pout batter in the pan and bake it in the oven, for about 40 minutes.
- Take out from the oven, cool on a wire rack and serve.
Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
- 1¼ cup (140 g) All-purpose Flour
- 2 tbsp Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (dark)
- 2 tsp Baking Powder
- 2 pinches Salt
- 1 cup (220 g) Sugar
- 1 tbsp Vanilla Essence
- ½ cup (1.2 dl) Milk or Water
- ½ cup (1.2 dl) Vegetable Oil (flavorless)
- 2 Eggs
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt, sugar and vanilla essence.
- Beat the eggs and add the flour mixture, along with milk/water and vegetable oil.
- Add all the other ingredients to the flour mixture and mix well, either by hand or using an electric mixer.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In the meantime, grease a 9-inch cake tin.
- Pout batter in the pan and bake it in the oven, for 35-40 minutes.
- Take out from the oven, cool on a wire rack and serve.
