Homemade Floral Centerpieces
Method 1
Things Required:
Learn how to make floral centerpiece for
Valentine's Day.
Floral Centerpiece
- An empty basket
- Foam/sponge
- Some Evergreens
- Carnations/ Orchids (white or yellow)
- Red Roses
- Ribbons
- Glue
- Glitter
- Scissors
- Water-sprayer
How to Make:
- Clean the basket and line it with the ribbon along the corners.
- You can either twirl the ribbon if you have gaps to insert your ribbon, else you can simply stick it with glue. Sprinkle some glitter here and there so that it randomly falls on the ribbons giving it a natural look.
- Next, place the foam/sponge inside the basket. If it is smaller than the inside area of the basket, fill up the empty sides with plastic or old paper. Make sure the foam/sponge is firmly placed.
- Now strategically place the flowers in the basket.
- Ideally, the roses should come in the center, surrounded by the evergreens and the orchids/carnations. Don't keep the stems too long. Cut them with scissors to make them look just perfect.
- Sprinkle some glitter all over the flowers in a random manner.
- Spray some water over the flowers with a sprayer to make the flowers look like they have just been kissed by dew drops.
- Your floral centerpiece is ready to give a face-lift to your room.
Method 2
Things Required:
Things Required:
- Fresh Hydrangeas
- Floral Foam
- Simulated Silver Bowl (available at flower and craft shops)
- Fresh Roses
- Fresh Blue Delphiniums
How to Make:
- Firm the petals of the hydrangeas by submerging them, head down in a bowl of water for an hour.
- Drip-dry the hydrangeas cut them at a 45-degree angle and place them in a bucket of warm water overnight. This will condition the hydrangeas.
- Soak the floral foam until it is completely saturated.
- Place the floral foam in a simulated silver bowl.
- Cut the hydrangeas again at 45-degree angle and poke them into the foam at 45-degree angle so that they hang over the bowl. The shorter the stem, the longer the flowers will last.
- Cut the stems of the roses short and mist them with warm water to give them a fuller, showy look.
- Once the flowers are done, add fresh roses and work in the center.
- Fill the gaps on the top with blue delphiniums.
