Love Poetry For Father's Day

First Love
As a little girl I look up to you
walking in your steps was all that I knew.
The games we played, the times we've shared
you've shown in everything, the way you've cared.

The older I got, the more I knew
the joy it was to be with you.
You've always been around for me
and always loved me unconditionally.

You've often shown me right from wrong
and taught me to be meek and strong.
Your patience and your gentle care
was everlasting and always there.

A young lady I soon grew up to be
and academics I accomplished successfully.
With all your love and all your praise
a successful woman you surely did raise.

Dad, in writing this I just wanted to say
how much I love you in every way.
You'll always be the king of my heart
because you were my love from the very first start.

I Wanted To Be Daddy's Little Girl
The day she was born
All my hopes went away
My dreams of being his baby again
Went down the drain
Now i'm not blaming her
For how he has been treating me
He did that all his own
He has thrown me to the side
Like a rag doll lost in a pile of other forgotten things
With hopes that she would bring peace
She brought tragedy
Now i'm not blaming her
For his stupid mistakes
He stopped thinking of me when she was born
She consumed his attention
Now once again i'm not blaming her
I do not resent her
I just want to present the facts
He doesn't see me even though i'm standing right there
He wont hear me even though i'm yelling in his ear
He doesn't love me even though that's what i'm here for
I still want to be daddy's girl
But in the end she still has his undivided attention

Dads Are Special People
DADS are special people
No home should be without,
For every family will agree
They're 'SO NICE TO HAVE ABOUT' -
They are a happy mixture
Of a 'SMALL BOY' and a 'MAN'
And they're very necessary
In every 'FAMILY PLAN' -
Sometimes they're most demanding
And stern, and firm and tough
But underneath they're 'soft as silk'
For this is just a 'BLUFF' -
But in any kind of trouble
Dad reaches out his hand.
And you can always count on him
To help and understand -
And while we do not praise Dad
as often as we should,
We love him and admire him,
And while that's understood,
It's only fair to emphasize
His importance and his worth -
For if there were no loving Dads
This would be a 'LOVELESS EARTH'.
