Poems For Mom

The word that evokes the most powerful of emotions in us is undoubtedly "mother". It strikes at the core of our hearts and arouses deep feelings of pure and unadulterated love. Her love is ever-expansive, almost like the abundant universe. A home without a mother looks incomplete as she is the foundation upon which your home is built. In fact the love and warmth they feel for their children is so profound that they forget about their own happiness thinking that it will rob away something more important from their children. It is as though she is blessed with the ability to iron out all your problems. Does it make you go down memory lane and recall the day when your mother listened to you and wiped your tears the day you came home crying from school after a sad fight with your best friend? She prepared your favorite dish and lo and behold! - life looked beautiful once again! Mothers deserve plaudits for working and looking after kids without taking even a single day off. Why not take the opportunity on Parent's day to express your feelings for this wonderful lady? One of the many ways to show one's feelings is through poetry. As poems carry great sentimental value, touch your mother's heart on Parent's day through some loving poems. Read on.

Parent's Day Poems For Mom

Poem 1
My Mother kept a garden,
a garden of the heart,
She planted all the good things
that gave my life it's start.
She turned me to the sunshine
and encouraged me to dream,
Fostering and nurturing
the seeds of self-esteem...
And when the winds and rain came,
she protected me enough-
But not too much because she knew
I'd need to stand up strong and tough.
Her constant good example
always taught me right from wrong-
Markers for my pathway
that will last a lifetime long.
I am my Mother's garden.
I am her legacy-
And I hope today she feels the love
reflected back from me

Poem 2
To the strongest woman I will ever know.
At first glance Mom's hands may seem crippled and meek.
She flinches when you bump them and her grip is quite weak.
But these hands are a reflection of the woman inside,
although burdened with limits, still strong with pride.
When opening a jar seems too great a task,
it's only after great hesitation that she finally asks.
Don't let that mislead you for you must understand.
It's not what they can't do, but rather what they can.
These hands have the strength to raise a family right,
to wipe away every tear and hold you real tight.
They come together each day in prayer,
and whenever you need them, they're always right there.
So if these hands don't appear all that tough,
Remember they're full of tenderness and love
and for me that's enough.

Poem 3
I miss you so much,
your laugh, your smile, your touch.
You always brightened my days
with all the smiles you sent my way.
I need you as my angel
to always be at my side.
I need you as my angel
to give me peace of mind.
I like to think your near to me
to know that you are there.
Even though I can not see you,
I feel that you are near.
Please do not forget me mom,
for you are always in my heart,
my thoughts and prayers.
I love you.

Poem 4
You were there when we took our first steps,
And went unsteadily across the floor.
You pushed and prodded: encouraged and guided,
Until our steps took us out the door...
You worry now "Are they ok?"
Is there more you could have done?
As we walk the paths of our unknown
You wonder"Where have my children gone?"
Where we are is where you have led us,
With your special love you showed us a way,
To believe in ourselves and the decisions we make.
Taking on the challenge of life day-to-day.
And where we go you can be sure,
In spirit you shall never be alone.
For where you are is what matters most to us,
Because to us that will always be home...
