Decorative Ornaments For Chanukah
Star Of David Candle
Star of David candles look absolutely beautiful and are very simple to make. For making them, you require a pillar candle, a hot glue gun, a Star of David Stencil, and sequins. Silver sequins will look great on blue candle, but you can choose whatever color you wish. Use a fine point marker to trace the Star of David on the candle. The marker will leave a well defined guide, so that you can apply the sequins easily.
Keep your hot glue plugged in, so that the moment you finish tracing, the glue is ready to be used. Begin gluing the sequins along the traced guide on your candle. Glue the sequins in such a way that each of them is barely overlapping the other. Make sure that their facing is correct. The tip of the sequins should be glued to the candle with the small curvature facing outward. After gluing the sequins, let the candle sit for about 2 hours, so that the sequins don't fall off.
Candle Making
You can also try your hand at beeswax candles for the family menorah, which are also pretty easy to make. You can easily get beeswax from stores. They are available in a range of different colors and usually sold in sheets. Begin by placing a length of wick onto a sheet and then roll the beeswax sheet tightly around the wick. Now, the wedge of the wax sheet is to be pressed on the roll and your beautiful homemade candles are ready to be used.
Place Mats
Pick up a few place mats from the stores. Choose colors of your choice and make sure that there is no writing, symbols or decorations on the mats. Cellophane, scissors and glue are also required for this project. Trace your favorite Hanukkah symbols on the cellophane and cut out the symbols. You can also make a few small drawings or one large drawing for the project. Use your craft glue to stick the cutouts on the paper mat. Let them dry for at least 4-5 hours. Now, they are ready to be used.
