Chanukah menorah lighting tradition is very important and is observed in the remembrance of the Maccabees' victory and the miracle of the oil, which burnt for eight consecutive days in the holy temple. In this custom, the candles are placed in the menorah from right to left. But, when they are lit, it is done from left to right. On all the nights of Hanukkah, the entire Jewish family gathers around the menorah and recites the blessings. Thereafter, they light the candles.
