Here are some fantastic ideas on games and party
activities for Valentine's Day.
Valentine Party Games & Activities
Here are plenty of super hit ideas of party games and activities
appropriate for Valentine's Day. You can invent a new Valentine game
that suits your theme by just thinking of a well-known game that you
have always enjoyed and whip up some innovation to spice it up. The
ideas given here are easy to prepare and play and the rules are easy
too:
Pair Up Games
- Make all the ladies stand in a circle and blindfold them. Then
the music starts and men start to circle around the ladies' circle.
As soon as the music stops, ladies have to reach out for their
partner.
- You may also put the chits of the names of all the girls and
ladies in the party in a big bowl and then guys will draw one chit
and attach it to their sleeve. Then the ladies have to find their
pair.
- Choose some proverbs or famous quotes that can be romantic, funny
or from movies. Write half of the quote or proverb on one paper and
put in the bowl for ladies and other half on the other paper, which
is put in the bowl for men. All the guests have to draw one paper
from the bowl for them and then find their other half, i.e., the
lady or man with the paper with the other half of the quote. Some
examples can be:
» Familiarity - Breeds
Contempt.
» Absence - Makes A Heart Grow Fonder.
» An Old Man In Love - Is Like A Flower In Winter.
» True Love Stories - Never Have Endings.
» A Good Marriage Would Be Between - A Blind Wife and A Deaf
Husband.
Fun Games
- Group your guests in lines with alternate man-woman order. Each
line should have at least six people. Ask them to pass a toothpick
in mouth, an orange under the chin or a dollar between the knees,
without using their hands. The line that passes it without letting
the object fall maximum number of times will win.
- Hide Valentine themed objects in the room and the team that hunts
out the most articles in the allotted time wins. The things can be
little hearts, cupid images, heart-shaped key rings, teddy bears and
other romantic things.
- Make everyone write down five characteristics about them on a
paper. Collect all the papers and read them out to the party. The
guests have to guess the person being described. One who has maximum
number of right guesses will win.
- 'Truth or Dare' is the best game to discover some secrets of your
valentine. All you have to do is assign a number to each of your
guests. Then one person can draw a number randomly and ask the
question to the person with that number. The person can either tell
the truth as the answer of the question or opt to keep quiet and opt
for a dare instead that he or she will have to complete for not
telling the truth. Some sample questions can be:
» Name the most
beautiful girl in the party.
» If you have to choose one person in the world to date, whom
would you choose?
» Who gave you the first kiss?
» Who was your biggest crush?
» What do you hate in your valentine?
Similarly, some sample dares can be:
» Sing a song.
» Stand on your head.
» Hop around to everyone in the party and ask "I am Cupid. Do
you want my help?"
» Go to the neighbor's house and say that you are 'Trick or
Treating' on Halloween. Of course, this is Valentine's Day, that's the
fun part.
Party Activities
- Get a selection of tunes on your CD and ask your guests to guess
the lyrics. The person who guesses the correct song ones. Apart from
love songs, you can choose songs like "I Will Survive" and
"Heartbreak Hotel". Alternatively, you can read a passage
from famous love classics and guests have to guess from which
classic, it has been taken from. Some popular love classics are "Romeo
and Juliet", "Hamlet" and "Othello".
- Ask all your separated friends to bring a photo of their ex and
then ask them to do something with it and then give it a funny title
like:
» My Ex Without Makeup
» My Ex Loves A Bear Now
» Ex With An Axe
- Ask your friends to spell out the name of their ex on the paper
and create funny acronyms from them. Those who come up with the
maximum and funniest of acronyms will win.
- Ask kids to make Valentine cards and crafts as Valentine gifts
for their friends and one with the most creative imagination will
get a prize. The options can include candy boxes, heart cutouts and
chocolates.
- Attach some small cutout hearts on the end of pipes and rods and
ask the guests to throw a ring to capture one of the hearts. The
guest, who aims the best and captures most hearts, will be crowned
the 'Cupid of the Day' or the 'Venus of the Day'.
